Dietitian and Nutritionist
Emma has completed her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Newcastle University, where she graduated with first class honours and was placed on the Dean’s merit list in her third and fourth years. Since graduating she has gained accreditation as an Accredited Practising Dietitian with Dietitian’s Australia, and is a member of Sports Dietitians Australia, while she is on the path to becoming an Accredited Sports Dietitian. Additional training she has completed includes Inside Out’s Training Clinicians in Eating Disorders and Dietitian’s Australia Sports Nutrition Essentials Course.
Emma grew up on a sheep and cropping farm in rural South Australia, which is where her love of food started. She is a huge believer in understanding where your food comes from and what you put into your body.
Emma loves to assist clients in improving their relationship with food, myth-busting nutrition misinformation, improving their performance whether athletic or day-to-day, enhancing their nutrition knowledge and above all helping them to achieve their healthiest self. Her key interests are the nutritional management of chronic disease, eating for performance, the role of diet in gastrointestinal (gut) health and eating for the different life stages, in particular pregnancy and infant nutrition.
Emma keeps fit and healthy through Pilates, high intensity interval training, walks/hikes, yoga and weight training. Outside of this on the weekend you will find her trying new cafes, experimenting with different coffee or wine, at the beach, cooking, trying to grow herbs and plants or exploring new hiking/walking trails.
