Alex's Profile

Alex trained at Otago University and worked in Dunedin, South New Zealand before moving to Australia in 2008. Alex completed his Master of Clinical Physiotherapy (Manipulative Physiotherapy) at Curtin University in Perth in 2011, giving him the title of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

In 2011 Alex moved from Perth to the Central Coast to work at Terrigal Sports and Spinal. In 2014 Alex purchased the business and rebranded the clinic to become Optimum Health & Performance. In addition to his clinician and business duties Alex looks after and travels with local, state, and national sporting teams.

Alex is actively involved in ongoing education and development within the Physiotherapy profession, both as a clinical educator for final year physiotherapy students in their undergraduate year or completing their masters training. His love of learning has led him to making a start with his Musculoskeletal specialist training through the Fellowship of the Australian College of Physiotherapists.

Alex is passionate about diagnosing the cause of someone injury or chronic presentation of his patients so ensure that effective long-lasting improvement is made, and they get back to doing what they love. He recognises the role of all the systems in the body and their impact on the recovery rates.

Outside of the practice Alex loves to stay active with volleyball, martial arts, running and other hobby sports such as kitesurfing, stand up paddle boarding, snowboarding and anything that challenges the body and mind.
